I almost always prefer to shoot outdoors. But if I’m going to shoot indoors, I love a good greenhouse photo shoot with beautiful light and plants!

Down to Earth Garden Center in Eau Claire NEVER disappoints me! They have beautiful plants, a clean, lovely, open space, and their staff is AMAZING. If you haven’t been there in the winter, you should stop by! While you’re there you will completely forget it’s cold and snowy outside! Looking at these photos, you’d never know it was 20 degrees outside of this greenhouse! (If I didn’t have to get home and collect my kiddos, I probably would have just stayed in the greenhouse until the Wisconsin temps rose above 40 degrees.)

When I shoot indoors I have to modify my posing style a little bit. When I do family sessions with young kids I often play active games in between posed shots to get kids moving and get real, genuine expressions! But indoors, at someone else’s business, I do my best to not be a distraction to other customers. I modified the photo games I play to be a little quieter, and a little calmer. Even though we couldn’t totally let loose and run and play, this session turned out super cute. Little Miss got to do a little greenhouse seeing and smelling, while Mom and Dad got their baby girl cuddle on!

Thank you for the beautiful venue Down to Earth Garden Center! As always it was a treat! (And seriously- if you haven’t been there- you’re missing out! Grab a coffee from their coffee shop, roam the tropical greenhouse, and pretend you’re somewhere MUCH warmer!) Another greenhouse photo shoot in the books, and only a month or two before I can move this party back outside!

Now, I’m off to water all of the plants I brought home after the session…
